Improvised Quilting - Make a Wall Hanging

  • The Craft House 109-111 Main Street Bingley, England, BD16 2HT United Kingdom (map)

Join me for an introduction to improvised quilting!

Improvised quilting is a popular technique which allows you to design as you go, we will use lots of small pieces of fabric which when sewed together create organic lines and shapes.

In this workshop we will make our improvised quilt top, adding loops to create a mini wall hanging to take home. Starting with choosing fabrics, piecing together our quilt top, then sandwiching and binding our quilts. You will go home with a mini quilted wall hanging and all the skills to keep practicing and perfecting your quilts.

In the workshop we will cover:

- Choosing fabrics and complimentary colours

- Look at the background of improvised quilting

- Piecing the quilt top using sewing machines

- Quilting by machine

- Making and attaching binding

All equipment and materials are provided - but please feel free to bring along any special fabrics that you might want to incorporate into your quilt.

The workshop will begin at 10am, with a break for lunch and finish around 3pm

Cost £60 per person - includes all equipment and materials
