Join me for a festive workshop creating your own textile Christmas decorations.
In this workshop we will learn to make Scandinavian Star decorations in your own choice of fabrics using sewing machine and traditional fabric folding techniques.
Everyone will make a set of 5 decorations to take home with you. We will cover quilting and fabric origami techniques as well as embelishment and finishing.
All equipment and materials provided – but please feel free to bring along any special fabrics you might have at home that you'd like to incorporate into decorations.
In the workshop we will cover:
- Choosing fabrics and complimentary colours
- Choosing patterns and discussing traditional patterns and reference books
- Cutting fabric accurately
- Sewing on machines and by hand
- How to fold and manipulate fabric
This workshop will start at 6:00pm and finish at 8:30pm… I will bring the mince pies!
